This blog is dedicated to observing games as a phenomenon and the critical analysis of them based on this premise.  While I’m a programmer who’s dabbled in game design, I do not speak from experience in creating games, but from playing them and watching their place in our culture evolve for most of my life.  This blog operates under the assumption that games can, and do, become art or artful, and warrant the same degree of attention and scrutiny as other mediums of art.

When posts aren’t about these subjects directly, there are also posts about games I am playing and how the outlined topics may, or may not apply.
